Weird Al Yankovic – a must see!

Last night I got to see cult figure Weird Al Yankovic live at Brisbane’s QPAC concert hall. Walking into the concert I knew little about Weird Al having only listened to a few of his songs over the years. However, his concert would have to of been one of the most entertaining events I have ever been to. For those of you who are unsure who Weird Al is, he is known as the King of pop culture parody, having sold more comedy recordings than anyone else in history. Pretty much Weird Al creates parody songs to popular hits. Such like, Smells like Nirvana a parody of Nirvana’s Smells like teen spirit or Eat it a parody of Michael Jacksons Beat it.

The concert was a sell out. From hardcore fans to people like myself who were just there to have a good time. And a good time it was. Weird Al was hilarious, with his at least 10 costume changes, videos and entertaining dance moves. A definite go see if you ever get the chance. I don’t think there was a single person who left disappointed.

I have added some of his videos below, check them out! -J
