Steal her Festival Style: Lauren Conrad Coachella

Coachella finished up about a week ago and now all anyone can talk about is Splendour in the Grass. Like Coachella, Splendour is a three day festival full of music, drinking, food and art. So what’s the most important thing, besides from purchasing a ticket? That’s right, what to wear. I have chosen to take three looks from Lauren Conrad’s Coachella style that you could emulate and all for a very reasonable price!

Day 1.

This is a very simple look, very comfortable, and probably the best ensumble for your biggest day roughing the crowds.

1. Z Fit Super Skinny Coated Jean Black, $79.95, Jeans West 2. Ribbed Cosy Sweater, $69.95, Sportsgirl 3. Holly Work Bag, $59.95, Sportsgirl 4. Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Hi, $89.99, Converse 5. Lucky Glasses, $34.95, Sportsgirl.

Day 2.

This look is more suited to one of those warmer festival days, it’s also more girly and fun.

1.Tropical Floral Zip Shorts, £35.00, Topshop 2. ASOS T-shirt with Drop Back, $24.86, 3. Hunt Cross-over Fluro Sandals, £25.00, Topshop 4. ASOS Straw Boater With Removable Garland Headband, $24.86, 5. Arrow Sunglasses, $34.95, Sportsgirl.

Day 3.

This is one of my favourite looks. I think it is fun and edgy but very versatile.

1. Basket Weave Floppy Cardi, $79.95, Sportsgirl 2. Mavi Serena Jean in Caremel Leopard, $139.99, Mavi Jeans 3. Silk Curve Hem T, $79.95, Sportsgirl 4. Hunter Original Gloss Wellington Boots, $137.53,

Don’t forget with any of these festival looks to add some of your own personal style with some great jewellery!

Steal her Style: Kourtney Kardashian

I love the Kardashians, especially their style. So here is a way to look fabulous while staying casual.

1. Witchery, Oversized zig zag jumper in black, $129.95

2. Sportsgirl, Kali long line tank in mocha, $29.95

3. Just Jeans, Distressed boyfriend jean, $79.95

4. ASOS, Tizzy Lace Up Peep Toe Platform Shoe Boot, $77.10

If heels are too much then replace with a simple black flat. Sportsgirl has the Summer Lilian flat in black for $49.95.

A Bright Compromise…

Colour blocking has hit Australian stores. But I’m not quite ready to give up my winter neutrals for an all-out colour explosion. So here’s my compromise. Colour AND neutrals. Ingenious, no?

Here are a few of my go-to combinations:

ORANGE AND GREY – a time honoured classic for a reason, any orange works with any grey. The possibilities are endless!

Try this combination with a chunky knit cardigan in dark grey and a Sportsgirl grey pocket tee, paired with Just Jeans Second Skin jeans in a nice dark wash and classic black over-the-knee boots from Tony Bianco. Then add some orange accessories, such as this George scarf, Sportsgirl watch and citrus toned nailpolish like Atomic Orange or Tasmanian Devil Made Me Do It from OPI.

CANDY HUES AND NEUTRAL TONES – just the thing to ease you into Spring.

I recently bought these shorts from ASOS (if you haven’t discovered it yet, what are you waiting for? Get your ass over there… but then come back and keep reading please) and I’m loving the way they have been styled in this picture. I’m just about as pale as the girl in the photo so I’m loving the cream shades they’ve paired the bright shorts with. Definitely something I will be trying.

I’m also loving the idea of teaming this gorgeous candy pink singlet from Dotti with these delicate cream lace shorts from Sportsgirl. Then you just throw on a cream cardigan, again from Sportsgirl, and you’re ready for the Winter/Spring transition.

I spend a lot of time in Sportsgirl, if you haven’t already been able to tell, but I bought this gorgeous oversize knit jumper yesterday and I can’t wait to wear it. The photo doesn’t do it any justice, the pink is this beautiful border-line fluorescent pink. Teamed with the lovely natural colour it’s perfect for that transition to Spring. I’m thinking dark jeans and boots now, and light washed jeans and strappy flats for later. Plus it will be perfect to throw over your denim cut-offs and singlet on those spring/summer nights at the beach when it gets a little bit chilly.

So get compromising, sartorially that is. -C

10 must have accessories

10 must have accessories that I think that every girl should have.

1. A watch

If you are a busy girl then you must always have a watch to make sure you are on time to your appointments. I recently purchased this blinging watch from ASOS.

2. A sun hat.

A sun hat comes in perfect for those sunday morning brunches or a walk in the park for when you must protect your skin from the sun.

3. A necklace.

I personally love gold necklaces with a pendant. They are delicate looking and bling up your outfit.

4.  A wedge.

My new favourite pair of shoes are a pair of black suede wedges which I bought from Target for $50 [believe it]. I feel like I can wear them anywhere and everywhere.

5. A knee-high.

Knee hight boots are fantastic for those colder months. They keep your legs warm and well… they look hot!

6. A blush.

There is nothing worse than a powder blush that makes you look like a clown. I have 2 powder blushes [one for summer, one for winter]. This winter I am using a peach coloured mineral powder blush and it is fantastic.

7 . A manicure.

Nothing completes an outfit better than a manicure. I am obsessed with Sally Hansen nails.

8. A case.

I think anyone who does not own a case for their iPhone is an idiot [sorry]. I have seen way too many broken iPhone screens. I picked up a $10 iPhone case at my local shopping centre. It is simple and stylish and has prevented my phone from becoming a statistic.

9. A  stud.

No, I do not mean a male companion. I am talking about the bling for your ears. I wear studs all the time because I feel they bring out my eyes.

10. A tote.

I feel this is the most important accessory because where are you going to put all your other accessories with out it? A great tote bag can make your outfit and it is something that will probably last forever if you buy a good one.

Wardrobe Staples

20 Must-have Items for Your Wardrobe

I’m short on cash at the moment and have to rely on what’s already in my wardrobe to create outfits rather than going shopping whenever I have somewhere to go. This got me thinking about what items you need to have in your wardrobe to be able to create the base of an outfit. We all know that trends go in and out of fashion, so what are those key pieces of clothing you should have to get you from season to season?

I have compiled a list of what I think are the 20 things you need in your closet to even begin to create an outfit. Cheap, trendy pieces and jewellery can be added to these basics to create the ‘in’ look of the season, but this is the skeleton of your wardrobe.

This list is tailored towards winter. Some pieces will be trans-seasonal and able to be used in summer, but considering winter is the season coming up, I’ll start there. I’ve also aimed this at a younger audience than a lot of the articles I’ve come across on this topic. Middle aged women aren’t the only ones who want to create a capsule wardrobe. This means some of the cuts and styles of clothing will be a little more fashion forward.

I may have cheated a little bit with number 20. I’ve just put accessories. I know it is more than one item, but I’m assuming everyone already has a very large collection of jewellery and other accessories as a starting point. I have showcased a few things that I think are essential but really, it’s your wardrobe so it’s up to you.

1 Riders by Lee Low Skinny Blue Moon Jean $109.95 || 2 Sportsgirl Pocket Tee $24.95 || 3 Alice in the Eve ‘Wit & Absurdity’ Blazer $139.95 || 4 Sportsgirl ‘Cali Girl’ Shirt $69.95 || 5 Witchery Pleat Sleeve V Neck Dress $249.95 || 6 Jeans West ‘Bethanel’ Leather Jacket $199 || 7 Dotti ‘Lucy’ Crop Stripe Slouch Tee $35.95 || 8 Sportsgirl ‘The Leggings’ $19.95 || 9 Witchery ‘Delta’ Ballet $139.95 || 10 Sessun Sooner Silk Button-Through Skirt (ASOS) $198.28 || 11 Witchery Oversize Boyfriend Cardigan $129.95 || 12 Witchery Acid Print Sequin Front Tank $89.95 || 13 Therapy ‘Eiffel’ Black Boots $69.95 || 14 Portmans Print Drawstring Waist Dress $89.95 || 15Betts ‘Goa’ Sandals $9.99 || 16 French Connection ‘Weekender’ Bag (ASOS) $297.41 || 17 Siren ‘Lulu’ Black Heel $139.95 || 18 ASOS Suede & Leather Weave Across Body Bag $45.06 || 19 Witchery ‘Jade’ Clutch $49.95 || 20 (clockwise from top left)Diva Large CZ Square Cut Stud Earrings $19.99, Diva Oval Stone Ring – Aprodite $14.99, ASOS Basket Weave Elastic Back Waist Belt $27.04, Diva Black Oval Stone Ring $14.99, Diva Clock Pendant $19.99, Sportsgirl Single Key Necklace $14.95, Diva Wide Gold Bangle $9.99, Diva 2pk Chain & Enamel Bangle – Aphrodite $19.99

So now you have your capsule wardrobe you can pretty much just mix and match to make a multitude of outfits. I’ve put together 12 already, but I’m sure the more creative among you can come up with many more. Here are the basic outfits I’ve put together so far… I know it looks like maths but trust me, it’s much more fun! Also, assume that number 20 applies to all outfits, obviously you will need some accessories, but I thought it might get a bit redundant to included it every time. You may find some outfits work just as well without any accessories. Just pick and choose which accessories you think will work best with that outfit. -C

Steal Her Style… Aria Montgomery

Ever since I have started watching Pretty Little Liars I have developed a style crush on Lucy Hale’s character Aria Montgomery. Although nearly everything she wears is lust-worthy, I’m mainly interested in her jewellery collection, specifically, this pair of earrings.

They are just so gorgeous! And delicate, and a beautiful colour. I want them! Unfortunately, as much as I search I cannot find out where they are from or where I could get them from.

And then, by some miracle I was trawling through ASOS, looking at all the things I can’t afford when I stumbled across these…

ASOS Colour Washed Triple Leaf Drop Earrings

So, they’re not exactly the same, but I think they are a pretty good substitute.

On a side note, if you haven’t already discovered ASOS you really need to. They have all the UK brands you love but can’t find in Australia, plus they have free shipping with no minimum purchase. So head to and discover a whole new shopaholic world. -C
