Holiday Time

Last night I saw The Holidays at The Zoo in Fortitude Valley as part of their Seven Million Mornings Tour. With support acts Young Men Dead and Gold Fields, the night was all about the drumming. Each band had a multitude of drums on stage and used them to create catchy, heart-pounding beats.

The Holidays played songs from their debut album Post Paradise, which was a Feature Album on Triple J late last year. True to its name, the album features songs with a island paradise feel. Relaxing and upbeat, The Holiday’s music will never fail to put you in a good mood.

Support act Gold Fields has received widespread radio support for their debut single Treehouse. They feature a more edgy use of drums than The Holidays but with that same catchiness that will get your toes tapping.

The Seven Million Mornings Tour runs until the end of April so check the dates and venues to see if you can catch them near you. They’re worth a look, or listen as it were. Check out ‘Moonlight Hours’ below, the first single from Post Paradise. -C
